Each summer, our nationally renowned faculty guide students through a wide range of musical genres including Jazz, Classical, and Rock. Students are able to customize their own schedule, join instrumental and vocal groups of various levels of ability, and perform in weekly concerts and recitals.
You may participate in several performing groups and ensembles, and on more than one instrument and/or voice, if desired…all for one fee!
You may choose a 2 or 3 week session June 28- July 19, 2026 | Ages 11-18
By designing their own daily schedule, students are given the opportunity to participate in several performing groups and ensembles. Students may undertake more than one instrument and/or voice if desired, all for one fee! Weekly concerts and recitals provide students with frequent performance opportunities. All students are encouraged to participate in Camp Recitals that cover a range of styles and genres with various levels of complexity. Daily classes and rehearsals, individual coaching and weekly private lessons further the student’s musical experience.

As a Foreign Service Officer living in Beijing, China, I was looking for a summer music camp for my 15-year-old daughter Gabrielle. By chance, I saw an ad for the Eastern U.S. Music Camp and contacted Mr. & Mrs. Brown. They were extremely attentive and responsive to any concerns we had because my daughter would be doing this on her own while we remained overseas. As it turned out, she was ecstatic about the experience, felt it had tremendously improved her oboe playing and is already planning to return next summer. My only regret is that I didn’t know about Eastern US Music Camp before.
I am writing to thank you for another spectacular year. I enjoyed all of the people I met, the conductors, faculty, and the positive atmosphere your Camp has. It is a challenge to work with new people and always so much fun. I never dreamed camp could be so much fun. I didn’t get much time to express my thanks, so thank you very much for a very special experience.
As a professional musician in New York City for 30 years, a business owner and an educator, I’ve had the good fortune of being involved with many music camps over the years. Eastern U.S. Music Camp is absolutely one of the finest anywhere in the world. The quality of instruction and overall experience for the students is second to none.
The wonderful thing about EUSMC is that it has exposed Alex to other school musicians, kids who truly love music and that has motivated and inspired him. Our school is small and there are not many kids who enjoy music as much as he does. So thanks! See you next July.
The lessons I learned at Eastern U.S. Music Camp were instrumental in my future success… in music and in my case, business. I learned to expect the best out of myself. I learned that I could accomplish more than I ever thought I could. I learned to absolutely love good music. I made friends and had fun!

Can I pick the ensembles and classes I want to participate in?
Yes, you are able to design your own schedule, participate in several groups and on more than one instrument and/or voice.

Each student also selects one class that meets Monday through Saturday. If needed, assistance with your schedule is offered by our faculty during Registration on your first day. Changes to the schedule you designed before arriving to Colgate can also be made at that time.
Resident students are housed in modern college dormitories (Boys’ & Girls’) on the Colgate University Campus. Most students live in double rooms, but some may be in triple rooms.
We assign students to rooms by gender and age. Rooms are also grouped by age on the floors, when possible.
Yes, private lessons are scheduled once weekly and are optional (1/2-hr: $45.00; 1-hr: $90.00). More than one lesson per week can be scheduled and on more than one instrument/voice, if desired.
You may sign up for private lessons when you receive the Information Packet & forms in early May, or during Registration upon arrival.

Organized recreational activities are scheduled on evenings when concerts, recitals, guest-artist performances, master classes, or workshops are not scheduled. You also have the option of designing your schedule to include recreational activities in the afternoon. ALL activities are organized and supervised by the counseling staff.
During free time during the day or in the evening. You may practice in your room in the Music Dormitory or in practice rooms located in Dana Arts Center.
No, all of the facilities the Eastern U.S. Music Camp utilizes on the Colgate campus are a short walking distance from each other.
Yes, in addition to the regular menus prepared by Chartwells food service, a healthy variety of vegetarian and vegan options are offered at every meal. Meals for special diets are also available upon request at no additional cost. Chartwells is recognized nationally as a leading contract food service provider serving healthy, nutritious and delicious meals by skilled culinarians.
The health and safety of the students and staff are a top priority at Eastern U.S. Music Camp. Students are supervised 24/7 by certified, experienced music faculty and carefully selected and qualified counselors. Counselors reside on the same floors with students in the dormitories and are readily available at all times for assistance and support in any way. The EUSMC program has been inspected and certified every year by the New York State Department of Health for 47 years.
There is no enrollment deadline; however, we accept applications on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum enrollment of 150 students per session.
