In addition to their day full of music, students may design a schedule that includes recreational activities in the afternoon. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the extensive athletic facilities of Colgate University; including the aerobics equipment in the modern Trudy Fitness Center and the indoor Olympic-sized swimming pool (lifeguard on duty during posted swimming hours)! Other popular activities include tennis, basketball, volleyball, racquetball and softball.

Organized recreational activities are also scheduled on evenings when concerts, recitals, guest-artist performances, master classes, or workshops are not scheduled.

All activities are organized and supervised by the counseling staff.

Pizza parties are held in the dormitories following concerts.

Movies and picnics are also offered, plus on occasion the students enjoy walks to a nearby old fashioned ice cream shop or the Colgate Bookstore in the quaint village of Hamilton.
